Lovran is located on Opatija Riviera, at the foot of Mount Maggiore, while surrounded by forests of oak and chestnut trees, takes its name from the laurel forests that fill every corner of the city, with palm trees and flowering hedges characterize the vegetation.
Originally protected by walls and ramparts remain today in the old part of the ancient medieval appearance. The first tourist facility was built in 1873 (now annexed to the Hotel Villa Belvedere Fernandea) and at the same time, the picturesque Promenade was built on the sea that, even today, along the 8 km of coastline connecting Lovran Volosko.

Lovran is 6 km from Opatija and is a well known seaside health resort with good tourist infrastructure, are practiced, sports such as angling, tennis, sailing and water skiing, and is it possible, among other things, enjoy relaxing walks on Ucka. In summer the town comes alive with parties of fishermen and outdoor musical performances and singing, while autumn is celebrated "Marunada" during which you can taste sweet chestnut paste and prepared according to ancient recipes.
