The Brijuni archipelago is made ​​up of fourteen islands, and is located in the Adriatic Sea: The main feature is that the mild climate, together with its natural beauty and, finally, since 1983, yet the national park, the territory of the archipelago extends for a total of 736 hectares and a coastline of over forty-six km. There are well-680 plant species and, further, 250 species of birds. The islands that make up the archipelago are the following: Veliki Brijuni, Brioni also known as Major, Mali Brijuni, whose name is also Brioni Minor, Kabula, Kadulja, Kozada, Galija, Gaz, Grunj, Madona, Rovinj, Sv . Jerolim, St. Marko, Okrugljak, Vanga, and Supine Supinic. The largest island in Roman times, was chosen as a holiday resort: this historical period remain several witnesses, including some remains of villas, baths, cisterns, pools, and finally a temple dedicated to Venus, is also present a Byzantine castle and, finally, an archaeological museum. During the era of the dictatorship of the former Yugoslavia, the dictator Tito chose Brijuni as places where he lived in his spare time, however, during the Second World War, the Decima Mas had a branch here. The archipelago is famous for its natural beauty of its islands, is a national park since 1983. It must be said that overall, the islands are uninhabited and only Veliki Brijuni is able to offer accommodation and are open to visitors.
