CROATIA LAND AND CLIMATE
The Croatian territory has an extremely varied in morphologic appearance, with areas of flat, low relief 
c alcarei and a coastline full of coves, bays and inlets off of which there are a thousand islands. There are three regions where it is possible to divide the territory north-west section (Slavonia) and the center of the country (Podravina and Posavina), where the foothills of the Pannonian basin of fertile plains formed by rivers Drava and Sava rivers, the coast Adriatic, occupying the entire western side of the country and includes the peninsula of ' Istria , Karst plateau nell'estremità located northwest of the country, Kvarner and Dalmatia , a region of limestone reliefs from the highly indented coastline fronted by numerous islands, including Brac , Cres, Korcula and Vis, most recently, the Dinaric mountain range, parallel to the Dalmatian coast and eastern natural border with Bosnia-Herzegovina, which extends into the southwestern section of the country. On the Croatian side, the chain culminates in the Dinara mountain (1,831 m).
Within the country the climate is continental, with hot summers and cold winters. The Adriatic coast enjoys a Mediterranean climate on the other hand, characterized by mild winters and rainy summers and dry and sunny. The average temperature in Zagreb, in the heart of the country, is 0 ° C in January and 24 ° C in July; in Dubrovnik on the Dalmatian coast, temperatures are in the same period of 9 and 25 ° C. The average annual rainfall is about 760 mm on the coast and about 650 mm in the capital.
The flora consists mainly of deciduous forests, especially in plains and mountainous areas, which allows for widespread oak and beech, conifers predominate at high altitudes. The coast has a subtropical and Mediterranean vegetation, with cypress trees, vineyards, figs and oranges. Among the many animal species present on the Croatian territory, some of which are endangered in western Europe, they remember the wolf, fox, lynx, deer and mouflon.
